The megacarcass team just completed a productive field season in the Kruger National Park. We collected samples from and performed vegetation surveys at 38 elephant carcass sites ranging from 9 days to 8 years postmortem. Group members also performed some exciting experiments looking at how arthropods respond to nutrient-rich carcass grasses. This is our most extensive sampling bout so far, and we’re excited to start analyzing the data! Thanks to KNP staff and all of our collaborators for a great trip!
